I just bought my first Suzuki a 1972 TS250 and was wondering how in the world do you check the oil level to make sure there is enough in the crankcase? Thanks.

There should be a view window on the same side as the fill hole. The Knickname for that bike was the Savage and it lived up to it. If that bike is in good shape (meaning good compression) watch out it has a mean power curve. It is a 2 stroke that never really had a throttle just an on & off switch.

Here is a pic of my dad on one.

on the rh side on the cultch cover you will find a hex head bolt with a phillips slot in it. it should have a red washer behind it. if you take this screw out with the bike level. not on kickstand, you can pour in oil till it comes out. this is the proper level. use regular 10w40 oil in the cranckcase.
