trying to save an flv video?

Aaaaaas

i am trying to download a video from a website, the thing is that i cannot find the flv source file. i have downloaded almost every flv downloader and none of them can pick it up. when i look at the page activity/page info i see there is something called "videoplayer.swf" but when i try and download it it only downloads the video player itself. i have also tried looking in my cache but i cant seem to find it their either. this has made me to realize that the video is constantly streaming, as in even if you rewind it will have to load the data again. aswell it has advertisements in between parts of it.

i believe the videoplayer.swf is constantly downloading its data from somewhere but where can i get it?
also if it ends up in the cache could anyone give me an idea where to look?

i have a network analyzer and when the video starts playing my download speed increases rapidly but when i stop it my download speed slows down, it is not like anyother flash i have seen( which normally acts like a standard youtube flash video [ where even after you pause the video it continues to load]).

when i right click on the video it says "about adobe flash player 10.3.181..."

can anyone identify what kind of specific flash video this is? aswell any ideas on how to capture the stream? ( i know i can do a screen record, but the video sometimes buffers and i do not want to record it and have the buffering )

the same principle is used on episodes of the colbert report "http://www.colbertnation.com/full-episodes/"
does anyone know how to capture the video from a colbert episode?

thanks
yeah a link would be an episode of the colbert report, they have the same mechanism in use, if u can capture an episode from their website tell me what you did please
