Trying to remember book, about two sisters, at the end we find out there is

actually only one sister alive.? I am trying to remember a book. I think it was called something like "[a girl's name] and me" or "[a girl's name] and [another girl's name]" but I could be way off with that. The things I remember are: (though some of the details may be wrong or mixed up):

- there were two young sisters living with their mother and a step father.
-they constantly use the word "y'all"
- the two girls get a little job in the local store, I think unpacking boxes or something
- in one scene the step dad ties the girls or one of them up outside for a punishment and they run away.
- the mother talks to one of the sisters but not the other
- at the end the step dad shoots one of the girls
-the really big twist at the end was that only one of the girls was actually alive, the other died some time ago but the sister refused to believe it and acted as though the other was still alive.
