Trying to install Photoshop CS4 but it gets stuck on 90% "checking system profile?

Anyone had this problem, are there solutions?
My dad's friend gave it to me on a memory stick, he has succesfully and installed it and used it on his computer, and it definitely isn't legal, but i don't have the money to buy a legal version unforunately. Basically the installer says "Adobe Photoshop CS4 Installer: Initializing" then the progress bar is stuck on 90%, and it says "checking system profile" underneath the progress bar.
 
if you bought it then its probably a problem with the disc but if you illegally downloaded it then its probably a problem with the extraction of the file
