Trying to identify what the electronic mechanism is in a pair of PVC

Harley Davidson gloves that I bought.? Black PVC gloves made by Happiness Express, Inc. Item # 18043. There is a small white box (1/4" thick x 1.5" wide x 3" long) inside with what looks to be a speaker. There are then two wires that run to a switch which lies under the base of the thumb. Both the right and left glove have this. It is powered by 3 watch batteries. Is it a speaker? A microphone? Something else?
