This is a long shot - doubt if anybody will recognise the film from my vague recollections, however, here goes.
Four or five years ago I started watching a film on TV, then visitors arrived unannounced I had to switch off.
The open scenes were in a department store (somewhere in the US) - then it quickly moves forward to when the store is shut down and everything is covered in cobwebs etc.
There may have been a murder and/or sex scene central to the developing plot.
I've always wanted to identify the movie.
