trumpet high notes, low notes?

hey guys.... so ive been playing trumpet now for about 8 years. plan on majoring in music. i have a pretty good range, up to A above high C. well still to this day, when i play high notes, i can't seem to get to the low ones. i'll play some high notes, but when trying to play lower ones, i can't get em out, just a raspy, shitty sound. any tips/scales, to improve low and high notes more accurately and consistantly?? help is appreciated, thanks
