Truly Awful Performances By A Lead Actor

I can't believe they turned one of my favourite horror films into a slapstick comedy. I'm glad I didn't watch it now. Thanks mate! :)

I think Daniel radlciffe was quite good in equus, better than he is in harry poitter, although with that theres always an expectation to BE the character everyone knows form the books.

I think anything with jim carrey in it, he seems to be a bit of a one trick pony.

Good point. :D

The casting director she sucked off before American Pie.

Boo, hiss, you're unpopular. No, in truth I think it's a little bit of both. I thought George Lucas was very restrictive in AOTC, and he gave Hayden more license in ROTS, but he had already taken the character too far. You can't be AS moody and as childish as you like in the second film, then suddenly be expected to be mature and completely grown-up but still having anger issues by the next film. It's bloody difficult. I thought once Anakin became Vader and went on the rampage, he was phenomenal, as an actor, and as a fighter. I just think they started his character off incorrectly, and the rest followed on from there. :(

Jolie is not a bad actress. I saw her in Girl Interrupted, and thought she held the screen brilliantly. What I don't like about her is the fact that she's supposedly the hottest person on the planet, but I reckon she looks like a fish. I'd take Natalie Portman, Jessica Alba or Scarlet Johansson over Jolie any day of the week, so why are there so many fish fans out there?

Pitt is best placed in modern day, contemporary roles that need style and humour. He is amazing in Fight Club, Ocean's Eleven, Seven, Twelve Monkeys and Kalifornia. I still can't get over how he almost stole the show in True Romance with just a couple of minutes' screen time.

Did Sean Connery win an Oshcar for hish role in The Untouchablesh? Crazhy!

I've never like Charlton Heston in anything. The old generation of actors have got nothing on the ones that followed. He was more wooden than a Trojan horse.

God i miss RTE never thought i would actually say that :)

I don't like the godfather movies but i can appreciate the work that went into them i just found them to be quite dull.

He was very good in Mr Brooks

Agreed. :D

Don't forget the classic:

"How'd it get burned? How'd it get burned?! How'd it get burned?!?! HOW'D IT GET BURNED?!?!"

That film is funnier than most comedies.

Ok we're not taling bad movies here. We're talking God-awful performances by the lead actor - no bit part players, no supporting cast - who did you think was truly APPALLING in the lead role of a movie?
Here's a few of mine.

Phil Collins as Buster. Couldn't seem to be able to make his mind up weather he was trying to be Michael Caine or the Artful Dodger. Just dodgy!

George Clooney as Batman. Oh dear.

Hayden Christenson as Skywalker/Vader in Revenge Of The Sith. The movie was centred around him so I'll assume he was the lead. He could possibly win the title here, has a fall from good to evil ever been so boring or unconvincing? He was about as "badass" as Janette Krankie.

Halle Berry as Catwoman. Ok the film was complete crap but her acting didn't help. Especially the scene where she was EATING catfood. :D

Yeah, Keanu may as well be called Johnny McCardboard. He's one of the worst actors I've seen in mainstream cinema, yet his massive wage demanRAB are happily given.

... and the acting didnt get any better when he grew up either!!

as an exception to the "child actor" thing can I make an honourary mention for Dakota Fanning who Ive always thought was great. And the girl in Pans Labrynth too....
