True or False: It is important that our president believe in God.

i don't care whether he believes or not, as long as he's not all crazy about it. i don't want someone who's spastic about being atheist OR being religious. i just don't think it should have anything to do with the way he rules the country.
 
I'm glad I didn't, for the sake of accurate votes, but I kind of wish I made it a public poll so I could keep those 36 weirdos in the back of my mind....
 
For me: False. Since I don't believe in God, I don't require my President to.
Also, separation of church and state make it irrelevent that our President believe in God or not.
 
I mean, whether you're religious or not one has to admit that it's crazy that in America, the man with the MORE RATIONAL spiritual perspective is considered the fringe, unelectable lunatic.

It's that fucking simple. That objectively and inarguably points out a ridiculous flaw in our society. The 'blind faith' variable that crippled a system of otherwise rational people. Emotions and tradition clogging the potentially crisp output of an able, advanced iteration of humanity.

Frankly it's fucking upsetting.

One would think not, based upon what most OT'ers say here.

Personally I wonder where a person who believe in nothing higher than human will gets their moral compass from. Where does a man who holds the highest office in the country, maybe the world, find humility when he believes the world is nothing more than a mass of whirling atoms with no meaning or reason for existing, coming from nothing, heading nowhere with no purpose beyond what can be measured in a laboratory.

I think it's tragic that most of OT only sees two sides of the coin. You're either a brilliant atheist or you are a moron who believes there is an old man with a beard floating in the sky controlling everything.

Tell me, where are the atheist charities. Give me some examples of modern-day atheists who are great humanitarians.
