True combat elite and wolfenstein enemy territory problem?

Every time I join a server to play either one of those games, I have to download some things first. Whenever I go to the loading screen, there's something saying "http://whatever.website downloading 2mb estimated time 5 seconds" is this normal? How do I stop this from happening if it's not normal
