Truck Audio System - What do i need?

ok i just got a 91 ford xlt lariat.. my brother says hes hooking it up with a head unit and he has two 12" jl w3 subs and it came with two mtx subs.. i think they are 12 " as well.. what should be my next steps in getting a great sound system? my brother has all the wiring and is a whizz at audio systems by the way. so my main question is what else do i need in my new truck? any other suggestions or tips about anything are appreciated. thanx

a good amp. it takes a good amp to push jl. their built to very tight specs. id look into jbl. their great amps for the money. however most people overlook them and go mainstream like rockford kicker ect. but i have a jbl gto 1201.1II version i got it refurbed in late 06 for 279.00 it sales at cartoys now for 500.00 and i have never had a problem with it. specs were like 1114 watts at two ohms and my bench test said just over 1350. good luck to you man
