i just got back from seeing Troy and i must say its a bloody amazing film, i would give it 9.8/10, the CGI is amazing (IMO) also the fighting scences can rival all of the LOTR films, its kinda like Gladiator Meets LOTR.

i did not think Brad Pitt would be any good at the role he played but now seeing the film if he was not in it then it would just not of been the same movie.

can't belive i am one of the first in the whole of the UK to see it. :D:D (i don't think its even had its premier yet!)

i recomend this film to everyone , some have said that its not accurate but screw that and still go and watch it ;)

all in all i think this is one of the best films of the year if not the best, it might not be everyones cup of tea, but i would still give it a shot

the next film i am looking forward to is The Day After Tomorrow.

I cant wait to see it. After studying all the stories behind I wonder what the film will be like. Having said that, I will probably end up throwing things at the cinema screen because they are doing things wrong. Do they have an actor playing Aeneas in it?
O yeeah, the day after tomorrow looks pretty cool too.

Woooah, how you get to see it so soon? It was only released yesterday in the US of A I heard.

Looks really really good. Can't wait to see this 1!

W.

there are advance screenings today 2morrow and i think also on Thursday next week, the cinema i went to (LeeRAB Showcase) had it on at 12:01(today) so they were allowed to screen it :D, has the premier happend over here yet ?? if not then i count myself lucky to be one of the first in the UK to watch such a great film (IMO).

as i said even tho the film may not be true, look past that and just watch the amazing fight scences :D

Wow! I can't believe you thought it was that good PreZiCion! Sure it was worthy of a watch, but not THAT great IMO. I think it was a bit too 'been-there-done-that' and kind of combined bits of lots of other movies together (as you mentioned LOTR and Gladiator). The CGI was fairly convincing except for the boats, but still tons better than Van Helsing *shivers*. Acting was alright on the whole, except Peter O'Toole who did a remarkable job and didn't once fall into the classic 'luvvie-mode' that most british stage trained actors tend to. I'd say around a six and a half out of ten.

The film was alright.

Hot men though lol, definately one for the ladies to watch :D.

Brad Pitt and that Autralian actor, fighting oh my goodness. That was for women what two lesbeins kissing do for men lol!

;)

LALA - YOU'RE BACK :) Where' ve you been for so long?

Eric Bana was the Australian actor though I have to say that it wasn't too heavy with the homo-eroticism like most of these types of films are. Though the whole 'I love you brother' dialogue on the boat back to Troy at the start of the film was filled with double entendres. "Come down below with me, I have something to show you"...hmm...

they are been shown on Saturday and Sunday ONLY!, and also this comming Thursday.

i watched it on Saturday at 12:01.

there were no showings on Friday that i know of as the Advance previews were for only Saturday and Sunday Only.

also i never said i was the only one i said i was one of the first, no need to get yur knickers in a twist.

I can confirm this - I was planning to see it Friday, but found out that it was only Sat/Sun/Thur (so I ended up watched Van Helsing) and watched an afternoon showing of 'Troy' on Saturday instead.

I thought the film was very average.. the only good thing was the fight between achilles vs hector.

Fight scenes like LOTR ? No way! Sure they had a lot of people but they dontlast nearly as long and it does not to different scenes.

Other than that 2 1/2 hours of boredom.

I went to see it. I was really looking forward to it as I love movies like that but I have to say that while it was good I was a little disappointed. I had expected it to be in the same league as Gladiator and I must say I thought it fell short. I'd give it 7/10

The best thing in this was Peter O'Toole. Eric Banana was alright, he certainly brought more depth of character to his role than most of the others managed. Brad Pitt didn't impress in the slightest. His cg sword was a little rubbish at times.

For a film as long as it is the pace rarely dropped too, which was a pleasant surprise.

the film 'troy' is fantastic achievement ~
finally got round to reading 'the making of'
handout (several pages) given out last week.
everyone involved in its making deserves credit.
imo it's as good as 'gladiator'

:)

ps 'the day after tomorrow' ~ saw it tonight.
it's the most stupid film i've had to sit through
some good (but daft) special effects and no story

How was orlando? If you mean in terms of acting he's around about average. If you mean how was he in a physical sense, then you get to see a lot of him running around half naked :D :) Oh and for people like me, you also get the satisfaction of seeing him being beaten half to death too - MWAHAHAHA! :)
