Troy - Dont do it

I went to see Troy expecting it to look fab, and be somewhat lacking in the script department. With such low expectations, I thoroughly enjoyed it, even though it is complete and utter tosh.

And watching Eric Bana was well worth the price of the ticket, imo.

You have to marvel at the utter laziness of the filmmakers though, the fact that it was simply two C.G. hordes running at each other and oh God I'm having flashbacks! Thank you very much!

I'd LOVE for someone knowledgable to make a trilogy on ancient Greece. Perhaps the three most prominent eras of its history, tied together somehow. Can you imagine an actual, no bollocks, no Hollywoodization portrayal of the battle of Thermopylae, or perhaps a mythology-based trilogy?

And yes, I'm aware there's a Thermopylae film coming out, but I don't expect it to be good by any means.

He's not looking so pretty anymore... never been my cup of tea but he's not ageing well.

Never seen Troy though I'm sure my OH has it knocking around on DVD somewhere, might take the plunge after reading this thread - I often like the 'so bad they're good' films!
