KS,
How long ago did you take the statins and anti depressants? These meds can have long lasting and sometimes permanent effects. Statins deplete COQ10 in your body and could explain the muscle fatigue, cognition problems, and several others. The anti depressants can also cause problems with your brain chemicals. I would suggest you start a vitamin regimen of at least 100 COQ10, Vit. B-12, B-6, folic acid and Vit. C. A good multiple in addition might help. I'm not an expert in this; just done a lot of reading and research. You might research statin and antidepressant side effects. I wish you well. :)

Most of those symptoms can be caused by low thyroid. I took a look at some of your old posts and found one where you complained of pain at the front of your neck.... Where the thyroid is located.

Get a doc to test your TSH, free T4, and thyroid antibodies... All of those, no less. Just TSH will not be enough, although that's the most they usually want to do.

If there is a history of thyroid problems in your family, be sure to point that out when you insist on these tests.

Hope you get to the bottom of it soon.

Well, KS, I thought about it some more only to find that rudiraven summed up my thoughts exactly...some of these meds do have long lasting and sometimes permanent side effects....I would encourage you to check with several pharmacists and do some serious reading in these areas.

Take care!

I have had that drugged up, wasted feeling,
Im quite young, younger than you.
But i have had M.E/Chronic Fatigue for about 2 years.
Im:
Dizzy and light headed (every day, especially mornings)
No Coordination
Im Easily Confused
I feel Sick (most of the time)

Physical Symptoms
Back Pains
Un Bearable Headaches
Muscle Pains (Mainly Legs, arms and back)
Twitchy Muscles.

Depression
Anxiety

I guess all of these are linked, Due to CFS/M.E all of the above have played huge parts in 'ruining' my life. Changing it, with me not able to stop it.

The things i think help knowing
- You cant wait to get better, you only get worse in doing so.
- Take every day as it comes
- Have things to look forward too
- Talk to people about what your feeling, dont suffer in silence, (even if you dont know
the person, they can always do their best to help)
- Try and look at the positives.

I hope everything goes well for you.

WOW. Are you my twin? I have lived with those same symptoms for years. I was diagnozed with Fibromyalsia. I have also very low blood pressure and gastric problems. I am currently seeing a few doctors to finally get to the bottom of these issues. Wish you well and....feel your pain!

m.s. is one thing on my list to have checked out. thanks!

thyroid checked ok. i was hoping it would be that easy!

I stopped with the anti depressants over 1.5 years ago, and honestly, I only took them for a couple days because they made me so sick. I had been on various statins, stopping the most recent, zocor in about april of this year. I am ready to try anything,so the vitimin regemin sounds like a good avenue.

thank you all!

Ks,

It's understandable that you'd be feeling the way you do given your symptoms. I haven't read your other posts but I'm wondering if you are or have in the past taken prescription medications or otc's for anthing? I'm asking because many of your symptoms sound like side effects that some of us have experienced on meds.

that is a very logical assumption. unfortunately, I am on no medications what-so-ever. I have been on some in the past such as statins for cholesterol, and I've tried a few antidepressants during this ordeal. namely wellbutrin and lexapro. both seemed to make the problems worse, so I didn't stick with them.

thanks everyone. unfortunately, I don't have time right now to respond to everyone, but again, thanks for your kind and motivating words. I will surely keep you updated.

starting Wellbutrin today. im hoping that even if it doesn't make me feel better physically, it will at least give me a more postitive outlook.

stay tuned!

Wow

Been there done that!!! Experienced close to everyone of your symptoms in Dec 2005. I now have a neurologist, endocrinologist, two cardiologists and a primary care. Neurologist helped and located that I had three disks that were herninated in my neck and one was serious enough to be putting pressure on my spinal cord. Treated with steriods for a week and received some felling back in my arm. I was also on Tamoxafin for 9 months, my oncologist took me off medication and within one month my muscle weakness began to return to normal although I still suffer fatigue and do not have the same amount of energy like I used too. I still have cardiac issues and they are being maintain on medication. It has been suggested that I see a Rhuemotologist (sp) to see if there is a possibility that I may have some type of autoimmune disorder. I have not seen this doctor, however, I may at some point take that route.

I feel for you because I know my journey has been very frustrating for me. Keep fighting and keep demanding tests. See a neurologist for the MS theory but make sure that they specialize in MS. The test that they should run is an MRI of the Brain to see if you have any white matter (or gray I can not remember which type puts up the red flag), they will also do a spinal tap. There is also a special kind of hearing and vision test that they perform. The rheumotologist is also helpful to see if by chance you contracted lyme disease.

Keep fighting and keep us posted on your condition

For Finest1104:
It would be funny if we were twins it sounds like your getting futher in getting better than me, and i wish you the best of luck, and I most definatly feel your pain.

And

kslager:
I hope the wellbutrin works for you, (: and you never know, after working out things emotionally you might start feeling a lot better.

xx

I'm not at all surprised that those meds would make the problems worse...I wonder somehow if there is a connection. Don't have time to think right now, but perhaps later.

Take care and don't give up...there are answers somewhere!

Have you had your B-12 level checked?

About 6 months ago, I started having some of the same symptoms you describe. I felt drugged up, no energy, could not think straight, etc...

At first the doctor said I had a sinus infection. After doing the antibiotics, I was no better. One day, I woke up and was finally my old self again. But 6 months later, the symptoms returned. I asked about vitamins. That's when my doctor decided to check my B-12. I have Pernicious Anemia and get B-12 injections once a month.

Good luck and I am so sorry that you feel so bad.
