Troubleshooting keyless entry on a 2005 chevy malibu maxx?

I just bought this car, and I used the remote at the dealership to open the back gate. However, now the remote won't work to lock the car or open the gate. I replaced the battery with no luck. I sent an email to the dealership, but in the meantime, does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
 
Worst case scenario, it could be your keyless entry system malfunctioning. But your best option is the dealership gave you a bunk keyless entry remote, so go to where you bought your car and they made need to: 1) Reprogram your remote or 2) Give you a new remote

you might have to take it to the dealership and have them reprogram the key fab. if you do don't forget to take both with you if you have 2.
