Trouble calling after the earthquake in Chino Hills today?

Just felt an earthquake out here not too long ago in SoCal and can't make a call with my curve. Signal strength looks fine but it just keeps saying call failed. Took out the battery and reset my phone, same problem. Wonder if a tower got knocked or something?

All seems to be back up now. Where I am AT&T and Verizon worked, and TMO and SPRINT were down. Weird I woulda figured CDMA and GMS would be paired as not working or working, but it was all mixed. I work in a big office building with hundreds of people and we were all outside checking to see who's service was up and who's was down.

You're probably seeing overloaded towers. Everyone making and receiving calls to and from loved ones letting them know they are okay, or getting calls checking to make sure they're okay. Natural disasters like earthquakes are where Blackberry superiority stands out with their PIN and data capabilities. Voice channels are down, but you can still communicate with your BB.

Towers are down or congested with so many people trying to stay connected. As long as you can sms or email or pin you can at least get in contact with some friends or family. ~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~

i could text but only right after. i sent a text to 8 people and the first 4 got it the other 4 timed out. Then every text after that to my wife would take long to send. Phone calls wouldn't go through though for like 20 minutes. I blame it on congestion, nothing more.
