Tropical or Freshwater - 2.5 gallon tank - What could live there and be comfortable?

I have been doing freshwater for many years and have started tropical like 6 months ago. I have a 2.5 gallon tank and It's just there and I want to fill it. Which fish can live there comfortable (preferably not a community fish, I would kind of like it to be just one or two) thanks!
 
A Beta can only live in there. They need at least a minimum of 2.5 gallons, I think. And if anyone is doing the "inch rule", don't follow it. Having one inch of fish per gallon? Come on?! It's like putting a foot long Common Pleco or an Oscar in a 12 gallon tank! They won't thrive in there and possibly not even survive for a long period of time. It depends on the species of fish, that's what rule you should follow. Good luck! XD
