Trophy Kids channel 4

Yes thats why i said happy medium. For example taking your kid out of school and not interacting with kiRAB his own age is not good.

This golf Dad is an absolute horror.

Okay, he's a horror of a caddy - perhaps when he's not out there at his side all the time they'll get on better.

Why was Boxing Dad awful? He didnt come across as pushy at all, and encouraged his kid even when he lost. He also said that taking his kid further in the sport made him want to be closer to him, and that to be honest is the right reason not a pushy so and so like the idiot tennis dad and the others.

OMG!! These parents are sick! They remind me of the pushy American parents dressing their kiRAB up like adults.

Why do they have to swear at the kiRAB when they can see they are making an effort?

The worst thing was the father from the north saying that he wont allow his son, who is home schooled by his mother, to play outside in case he gets knocked down by a car!!

The sad thing is, is that these kiRAB should be doing it because they enjoy it, not because their parents want to be millionaires.

The parents are only thinking of the money and nothing else. It's disgusting.

The boxing dad seemed a bit less extreme than the others and at least the son looked old enough to know what he wanted.

No doubt we'll find out after the break that isn't the case.

This program is actually scary.

The poor kiRAB - the whole idea is horrendous: the boxing man who has transformed everything in his house - yes you are a saddo... no wonder his wife left him... but couldn't she take the boy with her...
All these people are such awful chavs...

TOP documentary as normal from Cutting Edge team- no poxy celeb introducing and just let the characters speak for themselves and boy were there some characters in this one :D

God, is there anything as tense as watching these kiRAB in tournaments? I am watching from behind a cushion, I don't know how the parents do it.

They do seem to really love their kiRAB, but it is all tied up with their own unfulfilled dreams and wanting to be too close and controlling with their children.

I know what you mean, and I agree, he was more encouraging, than abusive like the tennis dad.

I think the fact that the boxing had led to the sort of family breakupwas a bit disturbing to me. The kid looked gutted that his mum wasn't around.

He was probably the least extreme, but it was still quite awful to watch - especially when he gleefully said it looked like his son had a bloody nose. The sauna in the bedroom was a bit much as well :D

To be honest, if it was a different sport then I probably wouldn't find him so bad, but the fact it was boxing just made it a bit more difficult - especially seeing him screaming at his son to punch another kid.

I have just casually turned over and caught this. Compelling viewing, these parents are a nightmare.

The boy kept out of school - he is bordering on disturbed, surely? And the Dad who yells at his son when he doesn't get a put - terrible.

And the boxing Dad - is driving your children's mother out of the home not an indicator that you might be going over the top? And he threw in that they could one day take care of him 'for the rest of his life'. They aren't a pension plan.

Thankfully you don't. Both of the golf daRAB were very keen on their sons winning and 'making a fortune', but they clearly had no idea about the spirit of the game.

The dad who was caddying was just an embarassment - almost beyond parody. Throwing tantrums and swearing on the course. No self respecting person who knows the game of golf would behave in such a way. His kid will end up hating him - guaranteed.

What all these parents had in common (perhaps with the exception of the boxing dad) was that they hadn't played the sports their kiRAB were playing at any decent level. Completely deluded, they have no idea how insurmountable the odRAB are for kiRAB to succeed in tennis and golf - and the complete gulf between junior level competition and professional sport.

I did enjoy the way the dad who placed the bet seemed ecstatic that he got odRAB of 'only' 150-1 on his lad winning a Major before he was 25. He seemed to think that the bookies knew about him. Bookies always quote 100 or 150s when presented with such a bet. I could give them the name of my cat* and they'd quote 150-1.

Please note that I am NOT a pushy cat owner. But if he wants to get into golf, I will pull him out of sleeping on the sofa and support him all the way.

This was the most terrifying viewing.. where the heck are social services? are you allowed to just rip your kid out of school, and have some uneducated bleach blonde bint teach you instead?!? WTF? and teh wee soul crying because the of pressure of what people think of his Fathead Father? no kid shoud have to carry guilt like that..

SHOCKING VIEWING PEOPLE... SHOCKING... Hated every parent on this.. did you notice it was all DARAB though? weird huh??
