Tricky word problem for people who like bicycles and algebra?

Jarrod runs his bicycle at 2 ft/ s. 30 seconds later on his second leg trip his speed changes to 4 ft/ s. Find the length that he's travelled for the first leg of the trip if the total rate is 3.5 ft/s
I created this problem :-)
oops I meant second leg lol
 
2ft/s*30s=60 ft

if the average speed was 3.5 ft/s,then he must fave traveled at 4 ft/s for 30 seconds

thus the total dist=3.5*60=105ft
