Ok I love cricket and all, but here in beaumont texas they say we have to use tri band phones. Ok well the ones they offer suck ! So help I need a good tri band that will work..ideally a smartphone..what are my options? Also on aug 5th the internet turns on here..if thathelps.

As of now there are not Tri Band (AWS) PDA phones out there, only companys that are using AWS that is not GSM based (T-Mobile) is Metro and Cricket. So there are really no good phones to pick from.

More phones are coming you'll just have to be patient. Manufacturers aren't putting AWS chipsets in everything yet because the bigger carriers aren't using it yet. Verizon did get some aws in auction 66 so there is hope, but the phones will be slow in getting here.

While I don't know 100%, but I believe Verizon plans to wait for LTE to be finalized, before they use any of their AWS licenses for that. I think the only way they might use any of their AWS licenses now is if there's capacity issues. But I think they have enough PCS in most markets to not have to worry about that. For now, Verizon & Sprint aren't asking for AWS capable phones for CDMA.

Cricket should just be like F U B and move to LTE lol and become the 1st LTE company in the USA lol like that will ever happen. or they should of gotten if they could 900/1800 and do a hybrid GSM/CDMA network so they can do the R-UIM or however that goes. that be kick *** xD can anyone say Nokia N95 and E71 on Cricket mahahahaha.

well basically were doing at least 1 new phone every month for the next 6 months, but no pda type phone...the closest u will get to that is the samsung messenger wheich launches on Tuesday
