Tri-Band Phones

I'm currently waiting for Cricket to launch in Chicago [1st wave next week, but not sure where exactly]. I just want to know if I can still use a flashed phone out here. I've been a GSM guy since the Voicestream days so I'm exactly sure how that works. From what I understand there are only a handful of phones that have that 1700 mhz frequency. What are my choices besides the ones Cricket currently offers? And does anybody know what phones might be available in the near future?

Yeah I live near a new cricket area too and its all triband / aws / CDMA 1700 / whatever you want to call it.

Cricket and MetroPCS are really the only two carriers that are using the new technology right now... in the future I am sure we will see more phones and carriers using it.

You *might* be able to get away with some coverage there without the 1700 band but chances are 99% that the coverage would either be roaming or barely existent.

NO. you will need a phone that supports CDMA 1700NA
At thiis syage I think it's safe to say no one else will be using it except cricket and metro. eveyone else has expanded through merger, so they will probably using it for evolution or something else besides voice service
