Treo 750 or cingular 8525???????

Been trying to read up and see who says what about each phone, but basically i'm tired of having my phone and then a regular pda seperate for work. So now thinking about which one of these pda phones to get.

My pda now is windows format, so it would be easy to use the 8525, but i'm sure the treo isn't to hard either.

My main concerns/usuages are phone clearity, texting, pics, vids, the normal stuff, and if I can get a program or something GPS.

I've talked to ppl that have the older treo's and some love them and some hate them, most say the speakers suck and can't hear very well, so I don't know if the new one is better or what.

But anyways, any advice would be appreciated.
 
I've never used a Treo, but I had the 8125 and I now have the 8525 and I really like it. It's quick, rings loud, fast internet, best PDA/phone I've had, and I've had a bunch. I downloaded a cab file from xda developer site to get Voice Command to dial through the bluetooth and now it works great. They will probably come out with a fix soon, but I needed one before the 30 days were up or I wasn't going to keep the phone.

I tried out the Blackjack, but it just wasn't enough of a PDA. I liked the form and really wanted to like the phone, but just wasn't there for me. Since the Treo is a true PDA though, it might work well for you, I don't know I've never tried one. My Mom might add on to our phone plan and if she does, I'm going to give her an old phone and get a Treo 750 on her plan. What a deal.

I've been using the 8525 for several weeks now and right after I ordered a case, I dropped it and nicked the front. Didn't hurt it working wise, just a couple of nicks. I first ordered a PDAir case and it's just OK. Not enough protection on the sides, plus I have to open it to see who's calling. I wish I had thought about that part before I paid the $30 or so dollars (including shipping). I think I bought it because it was pink leather.

I just ordered the Krussell Dynamic case and I can't wait to get it. I've read good things about it and hope it lives up to what I've read. I've had a Krussell before for my Nokia 6682 and I really liked it. I just wish it came in different colors!

Good luck, I think you'll like the 8525 if you decide on it. I leave my bluetooth & phone on all day and charge both everynight. My battery hasn't run down during the day, but I just bought a spare from Boxwave just in case though.

I had 3 Treo 600s and one 650 before I gave up on them. They were terrible. Constantly rebooting or having hardware failures. Can not recommend one. Do not have experience with the newer versions however. If the 750 is Palm based, that is an old and tired O/S.

Thanks the help guys, after doing a lot more searches and reading i'm still at the same point, just a little more aware of pros and cons of both.

I text a lot which a lot of ppl say the treo is better for that, the resets and bigs the treos have kinda turn me off to it. Guess I just gotta try both and see which I like better.

i reviewed the treo750v for a week, and currently own the m600i (for abt a yr), which has a QWERTY keyboard as well. I must say, that I'm still having difficulty sms-ing fast (with one-hand) and not to mention without looking. Think the normal numeric keypad works better for me for one-handed, no-eyes sms-ing. However, if you can don't mind using both hands and do not need no-look messenging, think you will be quite satisfied with the 750v. The buttons are wide-enough and designed to reduce mis-presses, which i felt worked quite well. Hope this helps =)
 
I'm also debating the same, as my Treo 650 is now standing on about 2 legs now after the speaker went out on it today and I haven't been able to sync it for several months now. I really wanted the 750, but I'm starting to lean towards the 8525. Actually, it almost seems like a no-brainer if you can get them at around the same price.
