Treo 700w Questions

Mr Candid help me out on this one... I have seen ur work already

I wanna know this... How did u setup ur Treo 700w (wap, mms, and any other features that u know of)

I've researched and read all throughout this board for this info... i see everybody's good with the 650.. But not to much info on the 700

basically here's what I've gotten from reading the board for WAP access:
1. Phone obviously flashed 4 Cricket
2. Went to Start/Settings/Connections
3. Setup a connection using Cellular Line (added new modem connection for work network)
4. Dialing #777
5. User name is (phone nbr)@mycricket.com
6. Password is: cricket
7. Domain is empty
8. Setup the proxys's all 4 have wap.mycricket.com, port 8080

This setup gets me NOWHERE... lol
If someone could give me some advice (esp for all the features like mms msging or sms msging (does that even work for cricket?), I would truly appreciate it thx

set it up through that....

NEXT you will need to make the serial cable and connect the treo700w to QPST. Put the phone into passthrough mode #*#3424

When its on, go to service programing and chang the MIP tab and you will see that you can put "simple ip" on (by selecting it) write to the fone, it then will restart....

after this go to settings, connections, then DO not use DIALING RULES the box shouldnt be selected...connect and your done !

You will have a timer on which mean that you cannot recive any incoming calls when your online unless you disconnect.
 
Now i neeRAB a serial cable... any suggestions? And is it possible to send mms (picture) messages after all of this is done?

PS ... i have QPST 2.7 Build 215... is that the greatest and latest?
 
thats fine....you need the cable to change the ip to simple....only way is through the computer and will not be able to change it through the phone....

let me rephrase...
has anyone actually PURCHASED one of these fine serial cables from one of these fine internet dealers... thats what i meant by my last post, i wasn't too sure about being the guinea pig for buying serial cables from a place i never shopped at before... and BTW i do appreciate every piece of knowledge u have blessed me and the rest of the board with... :buddies:
 
any time vershawn, if you need help with your 700 pm me...we could work something out

but anyways, abou the cables......those cables im 99% sure will work. They even list that you will be only connecting to tx,rx and gnd connections, exactly what you need. I wouldnt bother to hesitate to buy one, but the price is a bit high....if it still doesnt work return it. With all flashing 80 percent of the time it is the users error, not the equipment there using....Just know what you are doing with this cable, dont wanna ruin a 700 especially !
 
o gosh, nvm; this cable Does work, i hooked a wire to the wrong pinout on the cable;

>< should have been 8 and 7, had 9 and 8

on the chip, its the blue and white, white is tx #6, blue is rx #3
connect white #6 to pin out #7; blue #3 to pin out #8


amazingly i did this without soldiering a thing; i simply twisted the wires and stuck them though the pinholes

thank you guys....now to nav away from cricket wep
 
OK i have a treo 650 via sprint.
Now are yo guys saying i can flash to cricket no probs but i only get wap browsing? NO EVDO or 1X network access for data on cricket???
