Treo 650 vs. Something from Nokia? (UK)

My nice little 3230 recently bricked itself so I'm on the market for a new phone. And seeing how mobile email was the "killer app" on my last phone it?s a must for my new phone. My choice is limited to what Orange UK is providing atm, with a max budget of around ?150 (US$260) (i.e. what orange said they'd do an upgrade to the treo 650 for).

So far, all the reviews seem to say it?s a great phone, and it looks like it is one. But a few things keep cropping up in my head:

To be honest, every non-nokia phone I?ve owned was a joke; my Sony T68 was replaced 4 times, each version being progressively worse. And the LG 7100... It?s a toy. So usually I just stick with Nokia. What?s a Treo like compared to general nokia business phones? What?s the platform maturity like on a Treo 650 compared to nokia?s offerings?

The Treo looks the part, but how does it compare for day to day phone usage? What?s a Treo going to be like in a nightclub (usability wise, screw the bling-bling)?

How does the Treo 650 PC software compare to nokia's offering? Will I still be able to hook it up via Bluetooth and use GRPS internet on a laptop (ala Nokia PC Suite's "connect to internet" button)?

Most of the reviews I have for it are fairly good, but I?m still left with the vague feeling they'll be a catch, so my main alternative is a Nokia N70. In all respects, pretty much the same as my old 3230, like all

My requirements are mainly calls & texts, mobile web/email and good PC software. My prior phone, the 3230, was great IMHO, but Orange could only replace it with a 3220 (!!!). Camera isn't that important (they all suck quality wise). MP3: cool if it does but I have an mp3 player already. Yes it?s a business phone, but they said that about the 7110 and at 16, it was still one of the best phones I?ve owned.

All in all, the Treo 650 looks ace and I can afford it, but is it actually a good purchase over a more typical Nokia?
