I have successfully converted my (2) treo 650 and 700w from Verizon to cricket. (With the help of peolple in this forum). Have anyone been able to send or receive email messages SMS or MMS. I am able to surf the web through the google portal.

Thanks in advance.....

your lucky...i had to call every radioshack to find that cable, i found 1 store 30 miles away from me that had the lg cables i needed. Bought all 3 of them.... ; ) futuredial doesnt make them anymore......

Bump..

1eyebandit, currently your sms isn't working? Did you happen to use verizon firmware? I currently have a 600 switched over to cricket and it's not working...after some research I found out that it was b/c the guy who did it for me ended up using sprint firmware. I'm looking to switch over to a 650 myself tonight, no use in keeping the 600 when I have to do everything all over again. Also, if anybody has any tips with this let me know....the only programming experience I've ever had with a phone was saving messages in the contact lists. :clapping: yeaaah for me....I'm going to be  tonight....I just know it.

I cannot find the right verizon firmware to upload. I think I have to load 1.04a before I can load 1.05a, but I can't find 1.04a on the web anywhere

Ok, I got my treo 650 setup on cricket now and I did it all myself. I have not been able to get the mobile web to work. I need someone with a working cricket treo 650 to look on the network settings in prefs and give them to me. It should be the same for all cricket customers except the username should be [email protected]. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm also working on the MMS problem. I think I will have to make a custom ROM to make that work.

5. User name is (phone nbr)@mycricket.com

I got the mobile web to work now but the only place I could find to enter the proxy server is in the web application. Is there a diagnostic code I could use instead? I would like to use snapper mail to be able to send attachments from my gmail account since the mobile web based access does not support attachments. It doesn't support proxy and I don't want to pay the $50 for VersaMail 4.5 which, as far as I can find, is the only palm email application that supports both attachments and proxy. Also need kinoma player and Google Maps to work and would prefer to use Opera instead of the web application. I need to find a service menu to set the proxy server or use qpst to set it. Does anyone know if that is possible? I would also like to know what sites are accessible through cricket's mobile web. So far I've passed www.google.com/palm, wap.oa.yahoo.com, and crickets wap page: wap.cricket.motricity.com/portal/home. There is a way to browse any url using google's transcoding service www.google.com/gwt/n?q=crick...lr=&mrestrict=x but this takes forever. I would like to compile a list of web portals that Cricket doesn't block.
