Hello All My Name Is Raquel

My son is 14teen and his doc wants to put him on this. I am so not for it he is just a kid. The reason why they want him to take it is because he can not sleep where he is at. Well the boy that he shares a room with snores loud I asked them to please just move his room. They want me to call back to let them know yes or no I am saying no.

Thank You Everyone for listening

Medication because he can not sleep because his roomate snores!! If it were my child my answer would definately be NO!

Get your son a pair of ear plugs to put into his ears and asked the school to have the other child evaluated for the reason why he snores. Could the other child's adnoids be enlarged? This is common in children and can be corrected with surgery (tonsils and adnoids are removed) This may also help the other child because this child is probably not getting enough sleep because of his snoring.

If they refuse to take your suggestion than insist that your child be moved.

Sedating your child because of another childs' medical problems? Don't think so! I think it is the schools' responsibility to seek medical intervention for the child who needs it...not the one who is suffering from it!

I agree with the previous poster. Go and get the ear plugs that are used for noise reduction. They should help your son sleep. But the school should make sure that this is resolved with speed...for the sake of both of the boys...
