transmission toyota 4runner?

i have a 1991 toyota 4runner and my transmission just gave out i was wondering if i can use a 1996 toyota 4runner transmission.

are they the same? can i use this transmission? thanks for the help :)
 
Parts for these are everywhere. I don't know the answer to your question, but I love the old 4Runners and had to drop in to express my support. Drive what you love.
