I was returning from a long drive when it occurred to me. Transmission started to slip and I could hear it grinding. It started to slip backwards when I would start it on a slope.
The check engine indicator also turned on (did not flash).
I went to autozone, got it scanned. It showed two options.
excessive slippage detected. probable cause,
1) low fluid level
2) failed transmission
I found the fluid level almost empty. I filled it. My car is running smoothly now.
The question is should I check my transmission again? Or should I just reset the indicator?
I am going for a long drive again? Just wanted to be safe.
