Transition to veganism - tips when cooking for others?

I want to be a full term vegan. It was easy when living in a household based largely around that, but now that I'm out I'm struggling. I love cooking for people and making them happy, but especially in the case of many who don't like vegetarian substitutes etc, it's difficult. I don't judge or think badly of different people's choices, but personally I wouldn't feel right buying meat to cook for others. This is a bit of a road block on my journey.

Does anyone have any words of wisdom on getting around this issue?
