Hello: I have a 4 month old baby that would only takes his daytime naps on his swing (he sleeps pretty good on his crib at night). I want to start using the pack and play for his daytime naps. Anyone has any idea in how to make this transition easy or should I just let him take his daytime naps on his swing?........I don't want to use his crib for his naps because our house is big and the rooms are upstairs, this ways while he sleeps I can make lunch or dinner or clean a bit around the house. Please give me your opinions or share your experiences with me. Thanks a lot :)

My 11 month old still sleeps most of her naps at daycare and at home in the swing. But, If your baby starts in the swing, then after she is well asleep just move her to the pack n play. Otherwise rock her to sleep so she still has the movement settling her down and then put her gently into the pack n play

couldn't you put your baby in the crib and turn a baby monitor on? That way while you are cleaning or cooking you won't disturb your baby?

If you are going to use the pack and play just lay him in there, make it dark, and turn some music on. I found that using a sleep positioner at that age helped too because they had something touching them and surrounding them so they felt comforted.

I have found that it takes time to transition from swing to playpen but if he sleeps good in his crib at night you shouldnt have to much of a problem. You can try swaddling him but you should put the play pen somewhere dark like it is at night when you put him in the crib. But i agree if he sleeps good in his crib get a baby monitor since he already associates his crib with sleeping you shouldnt confuse him. you can get really nice monitors if your worried (ones with cameras so you can watch). good luck
