Transision time for black variant

How long does it usually take for the devices to come out in black ME/IE versions? I want the n95 really bad, but if I can get it in black......woah.

btw.....does anyone think the case exchange for the N95 will be at least as easy as the n80?

Thanks for yet another N95 thread. There really aren't enough as it is!

Who said you're guaranteed a black ME/IE N95? There's been nothing but speculation thus far. If the N95 follows the same pattern as the N73/ME, wait about 6 months. If it follows the N91/8gb ME, wait 8 months. If it follows the N70/ME, wait forever.

I've said this before to many, many people.

I don't think there'll be a Music Edition or an Internet Edition of the N95. I think there'll be a Gaming Edition, or an Ngage Edition.

It would be black with red backlights on the keys, reminiscent of the old Ngage, to signify the new approach to Ngage. I just think that the N95 is going to be THE phone this year (despite my reasons for not getting one) and that Nokia would be wise to create a few Ngage Editions like that.

They don't need an IE edition -- it already has all of that and more.

They don't need an ME edition -- same as above.

They don't need a "Game" edition -- it already has the 3d processor. Just needs more software.

It would be ridiculous to introduce new editions to the most expensive "cell phone/computer" out there. I hope Nokia knows this.

I noticed some graphite colored parts on eBay (back housing+battery case). Not sure if it's legit.

Great, I can't find the back housing...

They don't introduce the different editions for anything other than marketing value. The Nokia N80 was no different than the N80 Internet Edition, other than software. Nokia has admitted this by officially allowing you to update your firmware to it.

The Music Editions and Internet Editions may add little things here and there, but mostly they're marketing pitches. I don't want the "Gaming Edition" as anything more than a launch device for the Ngage Platform, in a different color.

Do you really think the N95 needs a marketing pitch??

Have you seen all their commercials for the N95??

I just paid $750 and now Nokia will put out a new "edition" with something else? What else could they add when they MARKET it as the most advanced multimedia computer? Did they market the N80 that way? Nope. N7X? Nope. The N95 is not like any other phone.

No, I don't. I think the Ngage is going to need a marketing pitch. They're going to emphasize that it's available for some S60v3 devices, but there's also going to be some devices that are better suited for Ngage, such as the N95 and N93 (3D hardware acceleration and TV-Out). Thus, I think it's highly likely that they release some special edition devices to coincide with the launch.

Just a personal opinion. It's not that the N95 NEEDS to have "Editions", it's that they need to use the N95 to get people on board with the Ngage thing. I also wouldn't be surprised if they came up with an Ngage Bluetooth Controller to go along with it:
