Transgender and in Army?

what exactly will happen if I admit and explain that I am transgender. im tired of living under such a restrictive environment under the conditions that I am a newly a MtF transitioner and don't have the greatest mindset to wait 4 more years. I have been in for 2 years and never knew that I would actually go this route but its a route leading to happiness.

Please help me out with this, maybe theres other options.
yes this is a serious question to clear things up. as an added fact im not trying to avoid service duty, I was an ex-Unit commander of an AFJROTC of 450 cadets and was in progress to go to a military school. So no im not running away from deployment, etc.

that falls under DADT and by Federal Law you must be discharged immediately and can lose all your GI Bill entitlements( they have the option to give you a discharge that is not classified as Honorable, which means you'd lose the GI Bill)

seeking medical treatment( to include hormone therapy) is grounds for discharge as well, and can also be classified as something other than an Honorable one.

I'd suggest not telling anyone. Why do you want people to know? It's easier for everyone, including yourself, if you keep that part of your life seperate from the military.

It sounds like you already made up your mind with what you want to do. While happiness should be shared, it should be shared with people that will revel in your happiness. Yes, you want to be free, so you can't keep it a secret, but you don't NEED to tell others. You're doing the MtF for yourself and not for the military.

Personally, that's not my thing, but good luck with everything in life. If you decide to get the operation done now, which isn't a good idea esp if you have piss tests.. you just might want to wait to do the operation, or try to keep it a secret, but honestly, if you go through with it while you're in, or tell people in your unit about it, there is a huge likelihood that you will get kicked out of the military and that you will get a discharge that won't help you in any future careers. So choose wisely.

You cannot be transgender in the military, end of story. You will be held to the standards set for males and any type of augmentation surgery is going to make you ineligible for service. You can do as many years of JROTC as you want, that isn't military.

are you actually IN the military or just jrotc? u know that jrotc is not the military and has NO obligation to join right? i have no clue how you could be a MtF TG and have gotten thorugh meps. they look up your record and it would show that you SHOULD be a male.
if its an elective surgery you got while at your unit, im pretty sure everyone woulda noticed tits and you woulda been out already.
