This film was a huge let down for me. I just got the impression that they were so keen on getting this sequel released as a result of the huge success of the first film that they didn't pay enough attention to the story itself this time round. If there is another i hope they take more time with it as the first film was excellent.
i was dissapointed with 1 aswell though, they are both ok and good for a watch but there nothing special
it could have been awesome like x-2 but it just ended up being below par and more for casual viewers, which im sure worked out fine financially, it just led to a average film
noone is asking for an oscar winning script, but just because its a comic book/cartoon adaption with a big budget does not mean it should just be about explosions and action scenes either.
films like x-2 strike a brilliant balance, there are casual fans out there who can accept non dumbed down action movies too.
I really enjoyed this despite all the negative comments, did what it said on the tin for me, explosions, giant robots, amazing CGI work, was not looking for Oscar worthy writing.
So heartening to see some people stick up for the film. For me, I was jazzed about this film since filming began in June 2008, lol, slightly obsessed...
I was happy with the finished product, the Decepticons got mroe screen time which was needed, some rgeat action and sci fi, Jetfire is just awesome, given great time to develop as a memorable character and it was loud and fun! Sure it could have been better in a LOT of ways but when I went to see it at the Odeon, people were reacting to all the right moments, so it was a crowd pleaser in a way.
Bring on TF3, filming gets underway in June I think and principal photography is currently ongoing in Washington DC and Chicago.
if you enjoy your blockbuster films with a hefty dose of racist stereotyping, shoddy storytelling, lazy (cliched) dialogue, action scenes were you can't tell whats going on and bad acting, then i fully recommend you watch Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
From what I know, the plan is to start filming in the summer. Bay already had some ideas, I'm sure the script won't take long. If the studio want is out by July 2011, they have to start filming this year.
I found the Island quite enjoyable as it happens and thought the ROck was quite good too. Who would think an over the hill British soldier gets one over the United States Marine Corps in a Michael "Must have a shot of an American Flag fluttering in the breeze" Bay film?
