You guys are being way too harsh on this, I think this was easily one of the best cartoon/comic book to movie adaptations in quite some time. They didn't fuck it up and your little nit picky didn't like this but this part was ok, is ridiculous. It's clear that with all of the complaining no one saying negative things actually came into this to see a completely new movie based on the idea of what we all formerly knew to be Transformers. Did you really expect the film to bring back the exact feelings that you got watching the show or reading the comics as a disillusioned youth? Yes the character development was a little weak, but did you want to sit in the theater for another 45 minutes? Probably not, and you probably would comment that it was long and drug out instead. Yes Bay threw in some seemingly unnecessary comic relief type scenes but please you really expected 2.5 hours of non-stop action? Give me a break. The technology used to make the movie was innovative and impressive, from the aesthetic point of view I thought it was fantastic.
The part of star scream may not have been enough for you but looking back (I've seen the movie twice now) it was sufficient and his role is made very clear as well and led to a decent set up for future films. As for the fight scenes, I really don't know what you expected to see, robots carrying out kung fu moves? Also the limits of the technology come into play here. Any idea how difficult it would have been to coordinate and render more detailed hand to hand combat scenes for each fight? The reality is that transformers is a deep story line and I think as much of it was relayed in this short film as possible without keeping us in theaters for 3+ hours. This thread is ridiculous and all of the faggot would be screen writers, movie critics, directors, and producers explaing how they would have done it is more than pathetic. Especially when half the people in this thread (judging from the questions posted) couldn't even seem to follow this simple story line.
