Transformers - guilty pleasure?

I am a thirty something mother of two and I recently watched 'Transformer' - only to keep my husband and brother company of course!

I was amazed by how much I enjoyed it - it was beautifully filmed, great special effects, good characters and a witty script. My only criticism was that it was a bit long.

What did you think of the film? Have you got other films that you were surprised to enjoy?

Pure escapism! Nothing too deep but great fun. I really enjoyed it.

For pure entertainment, it's my favourite film of 2007!

I got the 2 disc Play.com Exclusive Collectors Edition for Christmas, it comes in a nice metallic tin (which i couldn't resist, lol).

Not really something I can say I was surprised to enjoy, but I think it would count as a guilty pleasure ....

The original Transformers movie from the 80's. Probably one of my fave films!

Good animation, and a rockin' 80's soundtrack!

You see, I was a bit old for the original series. My brother asked for the film for Christmas so we bought it 'for him' and as I said - really enjoyed it!

You're right, nothing too deep - just good fun! And I'm all for meaningless enjoyment!

One criticism - the female lead (can't remember name) was more porn star than teenage high school student!

Saw Transformers a couple of weeks back and loved it!
I love sci fi and horror films mostly so I was surprised when I enjoyed 'Titanic' !!

Yeah, I thought it was one of the better films made last year.

I loved it too. I was expecting it to be good, but it was even better than I expected.
I especially loved the comedy elements.
