Transformers 3 gets a Release Date - 1st July 2011

Unbelievable.....

The franchise is obviously strong enough for a third film but what do you think about it?!

As long as the 2nd is as good as the first, i'm happy.

It isnt on the go already as you said. The studio have only announced a release date for Transformers 3 so that no one else will get that release date. Nobody has been signed up for it, there is no writer hired yet or even a script!
 
Bay has decided in his infinite wisdom to make Sideswipe a boring grey/silver colour.

Now, I can forgive Bay a lot of things when it comes to Transfomers, but Sideswipe is RED! Sideswipe has always been RED DAMMIT RED!

As a child, the original G1 Sideswipe Countach was the first Transformer I ever saw and ever played with. Sideswipe got me hooked on Transformers.

I don't care that Sideswipe is no longer a Lamborghini Countach. Actually, the concept Corvette is very nice and is fitting for the character. But this is the first thing Bay's done with Transformers that has actually quite upset me. :( :o
 
That SOB ! Here, try pretending it is black and white when Sideswipe comes up on the screen. Sometimes, it helps. I have to admit though, he would have looked awesome red. Silver is so... vanilla.
 
I LOVED the score! Completely agree and hope Jablonsky does the Score.

Did you know he also does the audio in Desperate Housewives?! Danny Elfman did the intro music but Jablonsky does all the music in the show itself. Which makes me laugh cos some of the rifs are the same as they are Transformers!
 
i would imagine that they'd pretty much have to start pre-production on part 3 almost immediately - considering the post production and FX work that would have to go into making it, it's going to be a very quick turnaround.

it's feasible that they've already started - maybe bay has agreed to oversee the pre-production while working on part 2, and he'll start on part 3 full time later on.
 
I didn't know he did the score for that series, I don't watch it anyway so wouldn't hear it lol.

I had to download the score for the first Transformers film because it wasn't avaliable anymore and I'm not paying a high price to buy it off someone. So I'm pre-ordering the score for the second Transformers movie so not to miss out on it again. Think it's out in June sometime.
