Transformers 2

This film had everything you could want, lots of action, great special effects and megan fox, not just in biker leathers but slowmo`s of her running, what more do ya want? :)

No it doesn't. Because Michael Bay can't direct action.

It features ugly robots, shakey cam and poor composition to the point you can't tell what's going on.

Indiana Jones isn't Shakespeare plot wise, but it's a wonderfully directed action film - there's a reason being followed by a giant ball of rock has entered everyone's visual lexicon.

This isn't. It's a really, really shit attempt at an action film, just as the first one was.

Phazer

That's quite possible - he wouldn't be the first Exec Producer to put his name to something without direct involvement.

And in fact, IIRC I think he directed some of Jurassic Park 2 via satellite link from the set of Amistad - so he's not afraid of phoning it in when he's a director either.

But thing is, he did seem to be directly involved in the first Transformers - which was quite good.

So, is anybody off to see the 12.01 showing tonight?
Im not going until tomorrow night and cant wait. The reviews i've seen for it are that its pretty much the same setup as the first one but bigger!

What else could the Autobots do with the Decepticons? it's not like they could arrest them like they do in TF: Animated, or maybe send them off to Guantanamo Bay with orange overalls et al.

Or would you have preferred that the Autobots rehabilitated the Decepticons and got them to see the error of their ways? Given they were at war with the Decepticons I would of imagine it was a case of kill or be killed and terminating the Decepticons' sparks were the only way to ensure the safety of the humans.

Don't get me wrong I'm not a fan of the whole hunting down the Decepticons thing, it could of been elaborated more and explained "why" in better detail, but it was enough for the movie and we can come to our own conclusions why it was neccesary without screaming genocide.

I'm still undecided if the sequel is worse or just as bad as the 1st film.Like the first film the only thing that the sequel had going for it was Megan Fox.

I went to see it at the weekend and I must say that it was pretty crap. I enjoyed the first film as I found it light and comical with an OK storyline. It was refreshing and better than I had expected. The second one was rather boring, too long and the ending was flat. I think the best part of the film for me was when the mother gets off her head on the weed, and thus I think that says it all if that was my best part.

Very disapointing.

That's as maybe, but in no way does the daftness of that idea trumps all (or indeed any) of the stupidity in TF 2 (as you suggested).

I dunno - I like my action summer pop corners as much as the next guy, but TF2 had so many illogical, half formed and stupid ideas thrown in with so little thought that made me despair in the summer action movie - that people will accept this kind of crap so long as it has lots of explosions, knob jokes and Megan Fox.

It made the first Transformers and Terminator 4 look like a tour de force of film-making and logical plotting. It genuinely bothers me that a genre I love has been reduced to this.

Are you serious?

You can get "shits" and "frickins" used in PG's, and the latter might i add isn't even really a swear word (i know it's a derivative of one, but "frick" is not actually swearing). I doubt that anyone below puberty age would even understand or think that the camera is "leering" at Megan Fox.

I wouldn't have a problem letting my kiRAB watch this film, it's not like there is realistic violence, full frontal nudity/sex or actual use of the F bomb. The only thing i'd worry about if you have children and are considering taking them to see this is the length of the film (150 mins).

Serious? Yeah..go on, why not, it's only a forum..

The first film was aimed at old school Transformer fans while hoping to pull in new fans..this one is aimed slap bang at the kiddie market..witness the Jar Jar esque Autobot comedy duo, the fart gags, the testicle gag, the hyperactive nature of the film itself..

And for a film aimed at kiRAB it's suprising that the rating it recieved requires the presence of an adult for them to see it..so there has to be something there..whether you think it does or not..

Anyway.. Rubbish film..

And he screwed up Soundwave's voice..that's another thing to bash Bay with..

Just got back from seeing it.

Really liked the first one - it was cool - stupid but cool. But this was awful. A truly stinking film: meandering, directionless, puerile, borderline racist in places, grubby in its approach to its female lead, and painfully adolescent. It shat on the groundwork of the first one, and screwed up Transformers lore awfully.

It was like the first one has been mixed with the worst elements of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and The Phantom Menace.

What a terrible, terrible film that was.

Very disappointed. :(

basically if you liked mindless action like the first..they film is for you.. i thought it was also funnier!

remember this film is based on a toy!..not on a booker prize winning novel!
