Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen

Me too - Bay is known for spreading misinformation, and just because he has said Megatron wont be in the movie - doesnt rule out that he will be resurected as Galvatron.

Nothing will be known for certain until we start seeing shots from the movie.

Even if megatron isnt in the movie itself however:

it is rumoured that he gets resurrected sometime between TF and ROTF since this is supposedly one of the focal points for the prequel novel or comics
 
yea this is right he was a very big part of the transformers universe will be interesting to see how it plays out because I read they were talking about the autobots and decepticons team up to fight the fallen and they bring megatron back to life to help but you can bet if this is right he will betray them

hmm - the trailer is most interesting because:

When Sam gets pinned down - it looks like its Megatron that is doing it. The hand looks kinda spindly like the Megatron concept image that was leaked - and behind Sam there is what looks like the end of leg that seems to match the leg (especially the tank tracks) of the leaked Megatron image too. Perhaps Bay was bluffing when he said that Megatron was only being released as a toy.
 
Bay has tried to spread misinformation for this movie as he did for the first one - so I would take what he says with a pinch of salt.

What is known is that the former Megatron does get resurected in the prequel comic series "Defiance" and has a toy with a cybetronian tank mode which seem to match leaked concept images. Perhaps Megatron himself will not appear - perhaps he gets resurected as Galvatron. Either way - I'd say wth the information to hand - that it is pretty likely he will appear in some form another at some point in the movie.
