transfer case leak on a 2000 Dodge Durango?

In this normal? I did my oil change today at the dealer ship so when I took out the oil dip stick there were smoke coming out of the oil lube not much a little the engine was hot?

Another question I dont use the 4 wheel drive but my transfer case is leaking what happen if it run out of oil? Does the transfer case work together with the transmission?

yes the transfer case with work with the transmission you have to repair the leak other voice you damagee the gear
