I have a 2000 Chevy s-10 automatic tranny with a 130k on it and about with about 80k on the tranny and tonight when i started it and was about to put into reverse it would not move. the gear shit moved up and down like nothing. what type of problem is this.

Most automatic cars have a switch that detects whether you've depressed the brake pedal before it allows you to shift out of park. My guess is that the switch, or the wires leading to it, are broken. You can spend a bunch of time trying to find a replacement switch, or you can bypass the switch and connect the two wires.

it is either low on fluid or the filter need replaced. or a new one.

if you take it out yourself, you can usually get a rebuilt one with warranty for around a couple hundred dollars.
