Training Day

It was on tonight. I have watched it on DVD but I have not watched it for a long period of time. I must say what a great movie. Great performances from Denzil Washington and especially Ethan Hawk. It is the ultimate bad against evil movie. Ethan Hawk is really good. Snipes is always brilliant. Stunning movie that can be bought for the price of a pint. What do you think?

I love this movie. The ending is something I skip over because its kind of silly.
Don't know if it's a clear "good v evil" thing. Some of the things Alonzo said were spot on. Corruption exists. Hoyt was a bit of a choir boy. But then again, he really wanted to succeed in the job.

If you look at the whole cast there's lots of seasoned actors that were a joy to watch (particularly the scene with the 'three wise men').
The atmosphere and tension in the movie is great as well.

I can watch scenes in this movie over and over.

Denzil?
Snipes?

It's a fantastic movie. I'd often seen it in the rental shop and thought it would probably be the usual action nonsense, but I rented it one time just out of interest and was amazed at what a great film it is - one of the classic cop films alongside the likes of LA Confidential. The kind of film that doesn't really get made much these days.

After watching it again... it ain't that bad!

But with the end I didn't like...
...when he was killed by the Russians. I found it a bit strange that they'd know what road he'd be driving on.
I admit I'm nitpicking a little!

One of my all time fave shows is Homicide life on the streets. I remember the producers saying that there would be no car chases and silly shoot outs. For a few seasons it worked. Though the show got great critical praise it suffered in the ratings and NBC screwed with it and began to make it like every other cop show.
