Trade In Value for 1988 Buick Century?

I'm looking for a new car and would like to either sell or trade in my old car. It's a 1988 Buick Century with only 160,000 miles on it. It has brand new tires, brakes, and caliper. It also has a new paint job. It runs wonderfully, the only problem with it is that it has a minor hole in the gas tank, so it can only be filled up 3/4 of the way. Other than that, it's in pretty much perfect condition for being 21 years old. There's absolutely no tears in the interior and surprisingly no rust, either!

I would like input from someone who knows about these kind of cars as to how much money I could possibly receive. Thank You!

trade in value for a 1989 Buick century in fair condition with 160,000 miles is between 200 and 300. a 1988 would be less and the problem with the gas tank would drop the value of the car. Would you buy a car with a hole in the gas tank? it would probably be more trouble than what it is worth to fix the hole and i doubt a dealer would take the car as a trade in

I'd say around $1,300. maybe. I knew someone would picked up this exact car with 180,000 miles in good shape for $97. Thats not a typo.

Put it to you this way..When I worked at the dealership and if we could make a deal with a customer based on his or her credit.Whats on paper is whatever makes the customer happy. But really it's only a dollar car,And the customer would be happy to see over 500 on paper. The mileage is to high to be sold on the lot,So it has to go to the auction and there's to many people at the auction that gets a piece of the profit.Better off selling it locally,
