Toyota Tercel windshield washer?

I have a 1993 Toyota Tercel with the wiper control on the left control lever. It has a button on the end that controls the washer function. It recently quit working. Any ideas about how to fix it? I am totally inept at anything mechanical so any step by step instructions for the complete idiot would be greatly appreciated.

the nozzles may be plugged also. open the hood, and there is a rubber hose that goes to the nozzles. unplug it, and try again. if it squirts out of the hose, the nozzle is plugged. clean with a needle or replace. otherwise, the pump is probably done.
