Toyota Tacoma 4x4 procedure?

I recently bought a 2005 Tacoma 4x4. I need to know the proper procedure for putting the truck in 4 wheel drive Low. Mine has no locking hubs and it only has a dial on the dash for 2wd, 4wdHi, and 4wdLo (not sure if some 2005 models have locking hubs or not). I need to know if I should put the dial on 4wdLo first, if I should shift into Reverse or Drive or not even take it out of Park (it has an automatic transmission). I have looked online and haven't been able to find anything useful, any help would be appreciated.
 
I have a chevy and in mine, i ussally put the transmition in Neutural, and engage the swict in 4low, then put it in gear (drive or reverse).

Has for 4hi, i just swich it on in gear or out.
