Toyota Solara 2001 (JBL system) 2door coupe speaker?

I was just wondering what size are the tweeters on the toyota solara? Can you use different types of brand when buying speakers. For example, sony speakers on the rear, boston acoustics speakers in the front, and alpine tweeters. Why do you need amplifier?
