The factory alarm that we opted for when we purchased our 07' CE has turned itself on about half a dozen times in the last four years, beginning with the 3rd night we brought it home from the dealership! It always happens late at night which scares my kids, upsets the neighbors and everybody loses sleep over it. When I turn it off with the fob which in turn unlocks the doors the alarm relocks the doors and the alarm turns on again after 30-60 min.
Although the battery now needs replacing I don't see how it could be the culprit. I have followed online instructions to deactivate the alarm and was successful, but I obviously want the $$$ unit working the way it's supposed to. Come to think of it, I don't think it's ever worked correctly since day one as it didn't turn on the day someone decided to key (scratch) both sliding doors.
Does this sound like faulty wiring? Too high or too low sensitivity? Can I expect the dealership to help me without a hefty service bill?
