My mom is trying to get a SUV that is not as big as our old Infiniti QX4 and uses less gas than normal SUVs.

So the choices have come down to Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V. So which one would you choose?

do you need 4wheel drive for snow or off road? then the V6 Rav4 is best.

if your never off road the Honda is better.

the Rav4 has the rear mounted spare tire and rear gate that swings out instead of lifting up, both are awkward and safety hazards.

if you get bumped from behind or back into something at even very low speeds the spare tire shatters the rear window.

the Hondas 4cyl is adequate for 99% or drivers, it gets good hwy mpg and ok numbers in the city.

the Rav4s 4 cyl is way underpowered, don't buy it, get the 6 cyl or nothing, the best is the Limited trim but that pushes the price to $30K

Rav 4 bro toyotas are the best.. you can't kill a toyota motor no matter how hard you try and don't buy a honda dey are crap built backwards crap holes

they get the same fuel economy about 20-25 miles per gallon, But the Toyota CAN come with a v6, 21 miles per gallon
really it comes down to driving experience, both 4 wheel, both 20-25 miles per gallon

just drive both and see which you feel more comfortable with.

btw, in my experience, Toyota tends to hold its value longer
