Toyota Prius, Plug in Hybrid?

When is the Toyota Prius coming out with a "Plug-in" Hybrid and Does anyone know how much it is going to cost? I saw a Plug in Hybrid at a Car show but they said that they are not going to release it. Also, how often should the battery be changed for the Toyota Prius? I would imagine that the battery could last a good 10 years.
