I have a 1994 toyo pickup.I just had (yesterday) my brakes done, and my clutch (plate, pressure plate, and throw out bearing) replaced. It was doing great until tonight.

I went to go somewhere.Got in my truck, and off I went.My idle was way high,Was not "up and down", or rough.Just high (as hell).Tonight it is a little out (50 degrees + or -).At first I thought is was the choke. After only getting about three blocks from home, I turned around and went back (home).I looked under my hood, and could not see anything (that I would "deem") out of the ordinary.

So, I turned down the idle screw.Every thing seems to be fine.

I have been told that toyota have a(little bit) of a rep for the idle screw "backing off".
Does anybody know anythig about this?

i have never heard of the idle screw backing out on you, but the situation that you are describing sounds like a vacuum leak. when idle is high the computer is adding fuel to the mix because of high o2 content and when idel drops the cpu is decreasing that fuel for reasons of the opposite nature.
