toyota oil pump question?

have a 93 toyota camry 2.2 engine. after sitting over night the oil pump is dry and wont pick up oil. if i take the filter off and pour oil in where it screws on and put the filter on and start it then it pumps fine. but when it sits over night it will not pick up oil in the morning. had the oil pump off and looks fine and the crank bearings are all fine. PLEASE ! do not answer if you dont know
